Online Video Critique: Western Style Dressage

WSDACvia Westernon our Executive of WSDAC site.  Style Dressage Association of Canada

“This is a very exciting time for Western Style Dressage and we need to raise funds to fulfill our goals to promote, educate and foster Western Style Dressage in Canada.  Two of our executives of WSDAC, who have over 70 years combined experience in judging, coaching and training dressage and western riders, have graciously donated their time to help raise funds for WSDAC. Janet Henderson and Elaine Ward have offered their services to our new members. Please read the bio for both of them click here.

Janet and Elaine will email you their critique and helpful hints to help you attain your WSD goals, here’s how:

1. Join WSDAC by either sending a cheque or pay though Paypal for $35.00

2. Provide a video of you and your horse. Minimum of 5 minutes. It does not matter whether you are riding a pattern, or riding around. Just make sure that they can see you riding both directions and that the video is clear.

3. Upload the video to YouTube. Send WSDAC the link. Email it to info@westernstyledressage.ca  You can make it private on the settings on YouTube if you wish. Just make sure that the link is correct.

4. Add an additional $25.00 for the critique, and when Janet and Elaine have reviewed your video you will receive an email with their comments and suggestions. This is regularly a $75.00 value!  It’s that simple.”

Clinton Anderson is a horse trainer, clinician and competitor. He has dedicated his life to helping others realize their horsemanship dreams and keeping them inspired to achieve their goals.

Born and raised in Australia, Clinton grew up with a love of horses, and by the age of 15, was apprenticing with the best trainers in the country. In 1997, Clinton moved to the United States where he began training, touring and conducting clinics.

In 2001, he became the first clinician to create a made-for-TV horse training program that aired on RFD-TV. The use of untrained horses and a variety of topics covering common problems faced by horse owners quickly made Downunder Horsemanship the network’s number one equine program. In 2011, Clinton, again, proved he is an industry leader and pioneer by launching his show on Fox Sports Net– a national broadcast station that reaches 80 million viewers.

In addition to being a clinician, Clinton trains and shows his own reining horses. He currently continues to compete and win at the highest levels of competition.

Clinton is the first two-time champion of the Road to the Horse, an event in which the best trainers in the world compete to start an un-touched horse in less than three hours. Winning the event for the first time in 2003, Clinton created a Road to the Horse tradition during his freestyle when he stood up on the back of his colt, cracked a stock whip and lifted his hat to the crowd. The move has become so popular that is has been copied by most other clinicians in the event and is now the iconic Road to the Horse logo.

Today, Clinton continues to teach, train and compete. He’s shared the Method all across the country including at the Alltech World Equestrian Games in 2010, and regularly hosts horsemanship clinics at his facility in Stephenville, Texas. He works hard to educate horse owners on how to be safe and effective while enjoying their horses. His training method is instructional, inspiring and innovative.

Show Spotlight: Thames Valley Trail Riders (Dorchester)

via: http://thamesvalleyriders.ca

The Thames Valley Riders is a family oriented Saddle Club, with shows being held each season at the Dorchester Fairgrounds, at 4939 Hamilton Road, Dorchester, Ontario. TVR was established in 1966, when the shows were held at Ponderosa Park, at the banks of the Thames River, near Thamesford, Ontario for many years. We still maintain the same fun, family atmosphere as we did back then, and each spring, our members look forward to another great year of showing their horses and ponies. We offer a full line of Western Performance and Speed Events, as well as some English classes, with affordable entry fees, and payback in all the classes. We have divisions for all ages and skill levels, with overall year end awards in each division. We invite you to go to our Show Details Page to find the show dates for this year, and plan to come out and enjoy a day at any of our club shows. We look forward to seeing you there!!

We have been known for many years as ‘the friendly club”. Our members come from all walks of life, but we share the same passion; our 4-legged friends! If you are looking for a family-oriented saddle club, then consider the Rusty Gaits Saddle Club. Our shows are held at the Aylmer Fairgrounds where we offer a great food booth, electronic timer, PA system and try to get the best judges that we can afford..

Shadowlane Stable Summer Day Camp, London

Summer Day Camp

For several years Shadowlane has offered day camps every March break and a summer camp in July and August. These camps give children that are interested in horses, a chance to get hands on with the horses and the day to day activities of a riding stable. Each day the children will have a riding lesson, play games, create arts and crafts, and learn how horses are cared for. Their education includes different aspects of stable management, what horses eat, and about the equipment they wear. Our camps are a safe, fun, and educational way to experience horses. All levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced; there will be 1 chaperon for every 4 campers. (more…)

About

…In 1969, it was recorded that the Ilderton Fair Board would consider putting up a permanent show ring on their grounds if they were sure it would be used and maybe the London Horsemanship could use it for their three shows. In 2011, we still have all four LHC shows at the Ilderton Fairgrounds.

Visit the website for more stories and details about The London Horsemanship Club.
