Oxford Trail Riders

The Woodstock fair’s horse show is on Saturday, August 28^th starting at 10 a.m. The OTR’s executive will again be hosting the show. The judge will be Janet McClure and WHAO rules will be followed. A Woodstock Agricultural Society Membership is required at a cost of $10.00. Entry fees are open $5.00 and youth $3.00. Prize money may be reduced if less than 5 entries. Paybacks for open classes are 1^st – $25.00, 2^nd – $20.00, 3^rd – $15.00, 4^th – $10.00 and 5^th – $5.00, and for youth 1^st – $15.00, 2^nd – $11.00, 3^rd – $8.00, 4^th – $5.00 and 5^th – $3.00. The heavy horse show and the Haflinger show will also be on Saturday, August 28^th, both starting at 9:30 a.m.

The Paris fair is from September 1^st – 6^th. The cutting horse show is on Friday, September 3^rd starting at 10 a.m. in the Valley Rings. On Saturday, September 4^th are the Hunter Horses at 8:30 a.m. and the cutting horses at 10 a.m. in the Valley Rings. The Friesians and Haflingers are also at 10 a.m. in front of the grandstand. The youth horse show is at 2 p.m. in the Valley Rings. On Saturday, September 5^th at 9 a.m.and Sunday, September 6^th at 8 a.m. the TNT International Barrel Racing will be on in the Valley Rings. On Sunday, September 5^th, the American Quarter Horse Show starts at 8 a.m. in the Valley Rings. On Monday, September 6^th, the American Quarter Horse Show starts at 8 a.m. in the Valley Rings and at 9 a.m. the Clydesdale, Percheron and Belgian All Canadian Qualifying happens in front of the grandstand.

The OTR trail ride will be on Sunday, October 3^rd at the Jones’ farm, 432560 Zenda Line, Tillsonburg, Ontario. The ride will start at 11 a.m. with dinner at 4 p.m. Tickets are 11 – 99 $12.00, 5 – 10 years $6.00 and four and under are free. Non members will pay the same as above; plus a Day Pass fee of $5.00 if going on the trail ride. There will also be a poker run at a cost of $5.00. The meal will consist of roast beef, baked potatoes, coleslaw and buns. Please remember to bring a potluck dessert and chairs.
